LEXINGTON - Dan M. Monts, 68, of Lexington, was born June 7, 1945 in Lexington County. He was the son of the late Rudolph Monts and Pauline Smith Monts. Dan passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2014.
A private service is being held at a later date. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel is in charge.
He was a Navy Seal and Vietnam Veteran. He was a VFW member and former Captain of the Lexington Rescue Squad and Volunteer Fire Fighter with Lexington Fire Department Station 10, and a retired Welder.
Dan is survived by his wife Linda D. Monts; sons, Travis Monts (Amy) and Trent Monts (Deenene); a brother, Charles Smith and wife, Wanda; nephew, Michael Smith; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, all of Lexington. He was predeceased by his parents and twin sister Ann Monts.
