Marshall was a graduate of Marion High School and Clemson University (1970). Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Army. He then went to work for South Carolina Parks, Recreation, and Tourism and retired after thirty years. After retirement, he enjoyed working for Vesta Builders of Lexington, SC. Marshall was an active member of his church and a long time member of the Midlands Striper Club. He was an avid fisherman and had a great love for the outdoors, especially spending time on Lake Murray. Marshall was also a devoted Clemson supporter and spent many Saturdays in Death Valley Stadium.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Knight West; daughter, Leigh Ann West Parrick (Robert); and grandchildren, Emily Marshall and Robert Miles; a brother, Hunter West (Vickie) and predeceased by a brother, Michael West.
A celebration of life will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Southern Oaks, 2401 US-378, Gilbert, SC 29054.
