

LEXINGTON – A mass will be held for Elizabeth A. “Betty” Stover, 80, at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. The family will have a visitation on Saturday, August 1, 2015 for friends and family from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Born in Louisville, KY, May 9, 1935, Betty was a daughter of the late Austin Elmo Abell and Evelyn “Tillie” Rogers Abell. Betty married Frank Rollings Stover on August 7, 1954. She graduated from Mercy Academy in Louisville and was employed by Lexington School District 1 for 33 years as Executive Secretary for Pelion Elementary School. She was a founding member of the Pelion Volunteer Rescue Squad and was very active in the Pelion Peanut Party. Mrs. Stover was a devoted member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, a member of Pelion Ruritan Club and served as Administrative Assistant for the South Carolina FFA Foundation. Mrs. Stover loved to travel to Africa with her husband Frank where they participated in Safaris. She loved making crafts and sewing. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Frank R. Stover; daughters, Ann Marie Boswell (Tom), Joyce Davis (Mark); son, Frank R. Stover, Jr. (Melissa); granddaughters, Claudia Marie Boswell, Bridgette Ann Davis, Grace Ann Stover; grandson, Warren Frank Stover and brother, Austin Abell. She is predeceased by her sister, Carol Abell Cutsinger and a brother, Eddie Frank Abell.
