

LEXINGTON – Claudia Inabinet Lander passed away peacefully at her home early Sunday morning, December 30, 2012. Born in Calhoun County, October 19, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Furman Carl Inabinet and Jean Varn Inabinet. She was a graduate of St. Matthews High School and the old Columbia Hospital School of Nursing. Claudia retired from Palmetto Richland where she worked in obstetrics.
The wife of V. George Lander, they enjoyed spending time with their family at their home site which included a large pond. They also enjoyed vacations at the beach on Isle of Palms where George and Claudia resided during their first year of marriage and spent their 50th wedding anniversary on a cruise to Alaska.
Claudia is survived by her husband of 52 years; daughter, Lisha Lander Hylton of Leesville; sons, Billy (Marsha) of Gilbert and Jeff of Lexington. She and George were the proud grandparents of Haley, Tripp and Tyler Hylton and Bill (Ashlyn) and Hunter Lander; sisters, Barbara I. Hair and Carlene I. Bozard of Lexington and Linda Kay (Osborne) Inabinet of St. Matthews; a niece and 6 nephews.
Visitation for Claudia I. Lander will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. The funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Union Lutheran Church, Hwy. 378 West, Leesville, SC with burial to follow in Woodridge Memorial Park, Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC. Officiating will be Pastor Mark Smith.
