Born in Augusta, Georgia, on December 15, 1952, Everett lived in Aiken until the family moved to West Columbia, SC in 1969. He attended USC and retired from AT&T.
Everett had so many natural talents, along with possessing the patience, meticulousness, and perseverance to see projects through. As a result, he created beautiful music, paintings. photographs, furniture, finely-turned wooden vases and other decorative pieces. We are so grateful to be reminded of him through his creations.
He was predeceased by his parents, George E. and Doris Jean Brown and his younger brother, Phillip D. Brown. Everett is survived by his sisters, Anne Brown Burkhalter and Cindy Brown Scott; nephew, Jeff Burkhalter and his wife, Lara; nieces, Alexandra Scott and Daniella Brown; great-nephew and niece, David and Leah Burkhalter; aunt, Carolyn Mattox; uncles, Pat Brown and Pete Rowland; along with numerous cousins.
Thank you to the compassionate staff at Lexington Extended Care for taking care of Everett and giving him extra attention, and to MSA Hospice.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Everett loved animals and his last cherished pets were cats Miracle, Muffin, Cooky, Rocky and Almond. I think he would want it mentioned, if not emphasized, that his niece, Alexandra, a child at the time, picked out their names. If you would like to make a charitable donation in his memory, consider The Humane Society of SC, 405 Greenlawn Drive, Columbia SC 29209; Pets Inc., 300 Orchard Dr., West Columbia SC 29170; or an animal charity of your choice.
Everett, cherished brother and uncle, you were loved, you will be missed, and you will never be forgotten.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.caughmanlexington.com for the Brown Jr. family.
