Gerald G. Sansbury

COLUMBIA – A memorial service for Gerald G. Sansbury, 66, will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 25, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the home of Debra Sansbury, 24 Carroll Ct. West Columbia, SC 29170. Memorials may be made to Life Point, 164 Lott Ct., West Columbia, SC 29169.

Mr. Sansbury was born on October 3, 1947 in Florence, SC to the late Allen Jefferson Sansbury and Bertha Brown Long and passed away on Friday, May 23, 2014. Gerald was a beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He served in the United States Navy and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed sailing. He retired from the South Carolina Department of Corrections.

Mr. Sansbury is survived by his daughters, Angela Lynn Sansbury (James Price) of Batesburg, Debra Marie Sansbury of Lexington and Cynthia Renee Jeffcoat (Shannon Wesley) of Lexington; brothers, Ray Sansbury (Betty) of Ballentine and Ed Sansbury of Lexington; sisters, Johanna Monogan (Bill) of Charleston and Belinda Bailey of Newark, Delaware; grandchildren, Rusty Delk Jr., Matthew Shelton (Carrissa), Amanda Delk, Nicholas Shelton (Breezy), Travis Delk, Cassandra Shelton, Trent Delk, Austin Johnson, Brianna Sansbury, Jessica Price and Samantha Price as well as 5 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his brother, Ron Sansbury.
