Born in Sweden on August 12, 1928, he was the son of Karl and Gerd Olving. He was a talented artist and sculptor and earned his Mechanical Engineering degree in Gothenburg. In 1954, he married Anne Dukat and in 1959, they moved to Michigan. Hans spent his career at Gardner-Denver Corporation and moved to Lexington following the company’s sale to Cooper Industries in 1981. Hans retired in 1992, after which he and Anne enjoyed many years of travel and living on Lake Murray.
Surviving is his wife, Anne of Lexington; sister, Birgitta Hammar of Stockholm, Sweden; a niece and two nephews, also of Stockholm Sweden. He was predeceased by his sons, Per and Henrik.

A celebration of life drop-in will be on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Wellmore of Lexington from 3:00 – 4:00 pm.
