It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Horace B. Tager. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and dear friend. Horace passed on the late evening of April 29, 2025 surrounded by family. Horace was born on July 20, 1955 in Columbia, SC.
Horace married Jo Ann on February 13, 1974 and they had two children, Jennifer Zeagler and Rebecca Benson.
He had five grandchildren, Kayla Kelley (Tyson Kelley), Hannah Zeagler, Levon Benson, Hayley Sawyer (Joshua Sawyer) and the late Thomas Nichols. He also had six great grandchildren, Aiden Nichols, Michael Zeagler, Gatlin Kelley, Larissa Zeagler, Chesney Kelley and Arabella Sawyer.
He was an avid family person and enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren grow, fish and play at their Lake Murray home. He was always willing to help anyone in need. You could count on him to be there no matter the time of day. All that knew him, loved him. He will be loved and missed but remembered by all.
Graveside service and interment will be Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 11:00 am at Lexington Memorial Cemetery at 1756 W Main St. Lexington, SC.
