DALLAS, GA - FORMERLY OF LEXINGTON, SC, On June 4, 2013, I died to this fantastic world knowing I would immediately be born, and escorted by deceased family members, into a far greater and more wondrous one.
I leave with great memories of a long lifetime of experiences I shared with wonderful family and friends whom I dearly loved.
Know that there is a touch of sadness at this transition, but the expectations of the future of unimaginable wonders and happiness beckons. To be able to rewind time and view Lewis and Clark on their journey to California, and to be able to instantly speed to the uttermost ends of the galaxy is ultimately fascinating.
I follow family members who have preceded me in this transition and am comforted by the knowledge that shortly - in terms of future time - the ones I leave behind will join us.
I leave Nina Wingard who was the love of my life and who took excellent care of me during my last days, children, Jamie Hicks Holcombe (Stuart); grandchildren, Matthew and Wesley Holcombe, Dr. J. Allan Hicks, Jr., grandchildren, Haley, Katlyn and Elana Hicks, Dr. Lynn Hicks Snoddy (Warren), grandchildren, McCord and Madelyn Snoddy, Rebekah Hicks Sullivan (Jim), grandchildren, Mandiy, Cory, Sam and Daniel Fulmer, Tom Atwood (Susan), grandchildren, Stephanie and Blake Atwood, Christina Atwood Stewart (Mario), great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Matthew Stewart. Also I leave my four sisters, Natalie Harris of Lake Worth, FL, Doris Schwolow of Allentown, PA, Alice Ruth Wagar of Medina, OH and Billie Gould of Dallas, GA. I am predeceased by my brothers, N.B Jr., Jerry and my sister, Lurline Fyffe.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on the snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn's rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.
