James William Staples, age 75, of Lexington, South Carolina passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025 at his home. He was born on January 26, 1950 at Bethesda Naval Hospital to Madeline Blanchett and Henry Ezekiel Staples, II.
Jim served 22 years in the U.S. Army and in Special Forces until he retired as LTC. He was an avid scuba diver and dove all over the world. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Alabama where he became a lifelong fan. He also received his MBA from Golden Gate University in San Francisco.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Staples; his loving furry companion, Lex; son, Andy Staples; and close friend, Ben Staples.
He was predeceased by his brother, Zeke Staples.
Jim’s life will be celebrated privately near the water that he loved.
