John W Hendrix

LEXINGTON – John W “J .W.” Hendrix, 89, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2013 at Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.

Mr. Hendrix was born October 18, 1923 in Lexington, SC. He was the son of the late Adam Hendrix and Bessie Snelgrove Hendrix. He was a lifelong member of Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church and he served honorable in the United States Army. J.W. was a loving husband, proud father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a builder in Lexington County for 50 years.

Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Rose Kyzer Hendrix; son, Donald Hendrix (Ginny) and son-in-law, Dwight Corley all of Lexington; grandchildren, Darren Corley (Cathy), John Hendrix (Amber), Julianna Hendrix and Wilson Outlaw IV; great-grandchildren, John Corley, Scott Corley and Ellaree Rose Hendrix; sisters, Roxie Harmon, Ruby Bouknight and Christine Gravitt. He was predeceased by his daughter, Ann Hendrix Corley; son, John Douglas Hendrix and grandson, Brian Corley.
