John “Wingnut” C. Wingard, Jr., 75, went home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, September 15th, 2023 after a brief illness. Johnnie was a retired, self-employed owner of Wingard’s body shop in Lexington, SC.
He is survived by his son, John “Jay” (Angie); his daughter, Tracy Ellis (Dale) of Lexington; two grandchildren, Christian Ellis (Lucy) and Angel Kimley (Hunter); Angel and Hunter’s children (his great-grandchildren), Nash and Ryder Kimley; as well as his sister, Darlene Wingard.
He is predeceased by his loving wife (whom he joined in glory and just lost this January), Claudia R. Wingard; her parents, Irene and Ralph Reed; his parents, Lizzie and John Wingard, Sr.; and two sisters, Florence Epps and Jannie Jordan.
Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel at 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072, is entrusted with his service which will be held on Thursday, September 21st, 2023 at 3:00 PM. The services will be delivered by Reverend Butch Powell, longtime family friend and counselor. The family will receive guests at the end of the service.
