Jon Manning Fairchild passed away on June 10, 2022 at the Lexington County Hospital after a long illness. Jon was born on December 1, 1944 in Columbia, SC to Harold Leroy and Dorothy Hughey Fairchild. He was a proud graduate of Eau Claire High School, class of 1964, and the first graduating class of Richland Tech (now Midlands Tech). Jon was the owner of Fairchild Tool & Dye until his retirement due to health.
He is survived by sons, Michael West (Megan) and Chance Fairchild; three beautiful granddaughters, Maeve, Kylie and Kennedy; sisters, Peggy Shull and Lynn Wooten; sister-in-laws, Martha Fairchild and Diane Tice; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jon was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Harold Fairchild and Roy Fairchild and sister, Patricia “Patty” Fairchild.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
