Judith Elaine (Keyser) Norris, age 70, went to Heaven on February 12, 2024. She came into the world on February 1, 1954 in a small town of Van Wert, Ohio to her parents, Robert Wilson Keyser and Georgiana Helena (Herl) Keyser.
She was the middle of five children, with an older and younger brother, in addition to an older and younger sister. Her brothers have both since passed. The family grew up in Van Wert, Lima, Shawnee, and Kettering, Ohio. There, she graduated from high school in 1972. They moved often due to their father’s family business for a large customer base. Judy’s mother and father retired to Merritt Island, Florida. Judy later followed, then her older brother, Bob, and sister, Kay followed also.
Judy worked retail careers and in a greenhouse. Her vast knowledge of plants was shared with many. She was known for her love of flowers, nature, butterflies, and hearts. She had a “heart of gold.” Her passion for helping others was never ending. She will be remembered as an angel in real life.
Judy had a lot of love to spread around. Her other passions included pets: dogs, cats, and fresh and salt water aquariums. She also loved to sew, crochet, and crafting. Her love of butterflies was evident in everywhere you turn.
Judy met her husband of 35 years, Earl W. Norris, through a mutual friend. They dated for around six months before getting married on February 18, 1989. For their honeymoon, they took a wonderful Caribbean cruise. Two years later, Earl and Judy had a wonderful daughter and named her Ashley Rose Norris after Judy’s favorite flower.
Judy is survived by her loving husband and caretaker; daughter; two sisters, (Cynthia) Sue and Kay; plus many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all who knew her. We will always think of her with love whenever we see a butterfly.
A memorial service will be held at Seivern Baptist Church, located at 1337 Seivern Rd, Wagener, SC, 29164, on Sunday, February 18 at 3:00 PM with a meal afterwards. It would have been their 35th wedding anniversary. Burial will be held at Fort Jackson at a later date.
