COLUMBIA – A memorial service for Kathryn Michelle “Chelle” Jones Groene, 42, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2011 at Old Lexington Baptist Church, 800 Old Lexington Road, Leesville, SC 29070. The service will be conducted by the Rev. John McKeown. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gideons International, P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214.
“Chelle” was born on September 14, 1968 in Columbia, SC and passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 from an accidental drowning. She was the daughter of Kathryn (Carl) Siemen and Gene C. Jones. “Chelle” was a graduate of Spring Valley High School and the University of South Carolina.
“Chelle” is survived by her parents and step father; sister, Alyson Jones Wells; paternal grandmother, Viola Jones; cousins; aunts and one uncle. She was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Judith Fripp Long and Edward Parker Fripp and paternal grandfather, Clarence “Jack” Jones.
