COLUMBIA - Kathy Black James, 49, passed away peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, November 26, 2014. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of Betty S. Sharp of Columbia and Olin and Shirley Black of Irmo. Her late husbands were, David Hatfield and Billy Joe James.
Surviving are her children, Eric and Ashley James; brother, Tony Black of Woodstock, GA; sister, Michelle Wadford (Eddie); step-brother, Gregory Edwards (Rhonda); stepsisters, Lisa Rivers (Matt) and Cheryl Freeman (Rex); grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Jaden James; nieces, Summer and Sarah Wadford; nephews, Trusten Wadford, Trent Black and Jarred Black.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Lexington, 415 Barr Rd., Lexington, SC 29072. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Lexington, Senior High Missions.
Caughman-Harman Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
