Louise B Hinson

LEXINGTON - Louise Bannister Chandler Hinson passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at 12:10 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at Abby Hospice in Social Circle, GA. She was born in Greenville County, SC on August 1, 1917. Mrs. Hinson was valedictorian and class poet of the Pelzer High School class of 1934. She was voted the prettiest girl in her class. Mrs. Hinson finished Draughon’s Business College in Columbia, SC and was a licensed insurance agent. For a number of years prior to retiring, she was the personnel supervisor for Renfrew Textile Finishing Plant in Travelers Rest, SC.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bickett Hinson of Pelzer, SC, and parents, Matthew Bannister and Ruhr McBrearty, also of Pelzer, SC. She is survived by a sister, Rose Bannister Kubler of River Falls, SC; three daughters, Marilyn Hinson Fox of Elon, NC, Margaret Phyllis Hinson of Cumming, GA, and Holly Hinson Roberson of Lexington, SC; two sons, Michael McBrearty Chandler of Jackson, GA and Jerry Robert Hinson of Mountain View, CA; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one niece and three nephews. Mrs. Hinson resided many years at Deepwood Estates in Lexington, SC, but had resided at Dream Catcher Assisted Living Communities in Jackson, GA for the past two years.

Her Home Going Celebration will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 12, 2011 at Lexington Presbyterian Church, Lexington, SC with interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville, SC. The family will receive guests one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Her request was that any memorial gifts be made to St. Jude’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Lexington Presbyterian Church, 246 Barr Road, Lexington, SC 29072.
