Marilyn Grimes

WEST COLUMBIA – A funeral service for Marilyn A. Grimes, 79, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 2015 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, 503 N. Lake Dr. Lexington, SC 29072. Memorials may be made to Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church, 3050 Leaphart Rd, West Columbia, SC 29169.

Mrs. Grimes was born August 27, 1935 in Decatur, Iowa to the late Howard and Opal Blevins. She is the widow of Doyle L. Grimes. Marilyn passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2015. She was a Real Estate Agent for over 50 years, winning many awards but her most prized award was her family. She loved the Lord and was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to many.

She is survived by her children, Vickie G. Smith (Glenn) of Lexington, SC, Craig L. Grimes (M.J.) of Roebuck, SC and Theresa Jo Nix (David) of North Augusta, SC; grandchildren, Seth Smith, Bethany S. Hanley, Austin Grimes, Joshua Nix, Kayla S. Reed and Bryana Nix; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Alberta Belkey and Beverly Davis of Iowa and Marcia McKee of Colorado and brother, Lynn Blevins of Iowa. She is also predeceased by a son, Calvin E. Grimes.
