

At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by her family and friends whom she genuinely loved and cared for.
Meena, as she was popularly known, was born in Gujrat, India to Miss. Pushpa and Mr. Arvind Merai. She grew up with her four sisters in Mumbai whom she always stayed extremely close to.
She got married to her loving husband of 37 years, BalwantRai Tailor in 1988. In 1990, she moved to New Jersey with her husband where their only son Shiv was born.
In NJ, she worked as Quality & Control Inspector for 16 years at American National Can Company, Lincoln Park, NJ. She was loved, adored and immensely appreciated by her Peers.
Meena and her husband made Lexington their sweet home in the year 2005.
Meena’s long and hugely enriching experiences with the American National Can Company enabled her to explore the entrepreneur side of her personality. This led her to setting up more than one business in Lexington and the surrounding areas. Rite Stop Gas Station and Convenience Store in Lexington and Lucky Gas Food Mart in Williston Town were only a few of her many successful business endeavors. She ran her businesses with utmost sincerity, unparalleled professionalism and singular dedication. She was the darling among her patrons and they loved her warmth and her willingness to help them anytime of the clock.
Meena was ahead of her time and was a true inspiration for Woman Entrepreneur. Her journey was not merely incredible from a historical perspective but a tremendous source of inspiration among the members of her family. She loved everyone and was equally loved and appreciated for her warmth and her distinct and adorable smile she always sported.
At her less than 5 ft of height and barely at 110 lbs, she was a pillar of strength and testimony of indefatigable positive energy.
As a part of her semi-retirement life Meena worked at TJMax at Sunset Blvd in Lexington for the last 4 years- and even at this moment her co-workers can’t stop talking about their wonderful memories with their very own ‘Meena Auntie.’
Meena is survived by her husband of 37 years, Balwant and her only son, Shiv; her sisters and their husband: Hema and Mukesh of Mumbai, Deena and Sanjay of Virginia Beach, Jagruti and Abhishek of Portsmouth and her younger sister, Jyoti of Norfolk; her brother in laws and sister in laws - Sharda and Vinod Tailor of Passaic, NJ, Hemlata and Naresh Tailor of Clifton, NJ, Ranjan and Indu Kapadia of Denville, NJ, and brother in law, Praveen Tailor of Detroit, MI and sisters in law, Padma Tailor of Toronto, Prabha Gandevia of Philadelphia, and Nutanbala Tailor of Clifton, NJ.
Meena is survived by loving nieces and nephews: Sanjay, Kalpana, Nimish, Hemant, Preeti, Kaushik, Chetan, Vipul, Chetan, Kiran, Raju, Jigu, Vibhisha, Vibhesh, Jason, Jessica, Dharmil, Forum, Bhavya, Miloni, Aayushi.
Meena is survived by her many grandchildren who call her ‘Nahni Nani/Baa’ - Darshit, Sanika, Nishita, Tanisha, Urjita, Dimple, Vishal, Kruti, Shiv, Jai, Nikita, Devina, Hiral, Tushar, Neel, Jash, Heet, Aryan, Ronin, Reyansh, Krish, Nihaar, Aashi, Devans, Hiyanshi, Hiyansh.
In her death, Meena is preceded by parents, Pushpa and Arvind Tailor; in-laws, Jashoda and Manilal Tailor; brothers in law, Narendra Tailor, Natwarlal Tailor and Amratlal Gandevia and Girish Tailor; sister in law, Ramila Tailor; nephew, Nilesh Tailor and Daksha Tailor .
Behind her, Meena leaves a legacy for her family which will always keep us Humble, Kind, Warm, Hard Working, Strong caring and above all -gentle love for everyone around us.

The last rites and Prayers will be performed and officiated by the Priest from Shri Swaminarayan Temple before the cremation at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - Lexington Chapel at 11:30 AM.
