On May 19, 2023, heaven received another angel. Mildred "Millie" Metts Perry, 91, left her earthly home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Millie was the daughter of Ray C. Metts and Lettie Mae Hancock Metts.
Mildred was married to the late James E. “Skeet” Perry and is survived by her children, Craig (Mary) Perry, Keith Perry and Tracy "Skip" Skipper; grandchildren, Zachary (Abigail) Perry, Kyle Perry, Megan (Chad) Shirley, Lexie Skipper, Peri Jayne Skipper, Valerie Sample; great grandchildren, Rilynn, Rivers and Rosalie Shirley and Clyde Perry; brother, George Ray Metts (Dorothy) of Saluda, SC; sisters-in-law, Glenda Metts and Eleanor Metts and brother-in-law, Jim Morgan, and many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Molly Metts Morgan; and brothers, Robert E. Metts and Winford O. Metts.
Millie retired from the 11th Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office where she enjoyed serving the public. Millie was a loving and caring mother, who was beautiful inside and out. She was also the best mother-in-law ever, and an adoring grandmother and great grandmother. She never met a child, dog or new acquaintance who didn't immediately take to and love her. Her family enjoyed many of her wonderful home-cooked meals (especially holiday meals at the lake) and loved her beautiful decorations, her flowers, her gentle nature, and the way she waited on and spoiled everyone, especially her grandchildren. While we will miss her sweet smile and kind-hearted and generous nature, we know she is so excited to be reunited with family and friends in heaven. We love you, Mama Millie, and will see you again one day so you can love and spoil us all over again.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 24th, at 11:00 A.M., at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington.
The family would like to thank Lakeside Assisted Living for their wonderful care during the almost four years she resided there. She truly enjoyed her “apartment” and the friends she made, especially her lunch group.
Memorials may be made to MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital, 10 McClennan Banks Drive, Charleston, SC 29425.
