

GASTON – Naomi Leonard was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 1, 2016. She will forever be remembered for her grace and courage. Naomi was born May 17, 1930 in Columbia, SC. She was 85 years of age. She was the daughter of the late James Bradley Ford and Margaret Kornaman Ford. She retired as a nurse from Dorn VA Hospital. She was an avid Gamecock sports fan, especially women’s basketball. She loved bowling and gardening. For the last nine years she volunteered at LICS. She was a member of Saluda River Baptist Church. Naomi loved her family very much.
She is survived by her daughters, Monica Wise, Robin Kearney and Jayne Summers all of Garden City, Beth Summers of Columbia; son, Brett Summers of Columbia; step-daughter, Lydia Faye Carter of Lexington; grandchildren, Lynsie Wise Culler (Jared), Savannah Wise, Emily Kearney (Grady Williams), Katie Lail (Sammy), Hannah Kearney, Beth Bruce, Garett and Lauren Summers; step-grandchildren, Shauna, Haylee and Ethan; great-grandchildren, Moriya and Graydon Williams and Judah Lail; sisters, Juanita Poole, her twin sister, Norma Phillips; brother, Mike Ford, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Russell Leonard and brother, Robert Ford.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Saluda River Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to Saluda River Baptist Church We Care Sunday School Class or LICS.Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
