Columbia, SC - Retired Master Sergeant Nathaniel Holmes "Bud" Hand passed away on Wednesday June 27, 2012. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 2700 Deans Bridge Road, Augusta, GA 30906. Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service.
He is survived by his children, Janice Newbold (Randy); Robert Hand (Yvonne); Richard Hand; Dolores Hopkins; James Hand (Sandra); Karen Hand; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years, Ruth Rile Hand.
Bud proudly served his country for 20 years in the U.S. Army, followed by 20 years in civil service where he contributed heavily in the writing of the Avionics Training Manual for the Apache Helicopter. He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed boating and fishing.
Bud, Dad, GrandPop is now at peace.
