Odom Monroe Jeffcoat, 71, passed away on April 23, 2025. He was born May 4, 1953, the fourth born out of 8 siblings to Edward Leroy Jeffcoat and Zora Shirey Jeffcoat. He was married to the love of his life, Janie Frye Jeffcoat, for 53 years. The pride of his life was his 3 children: Quanna “Buddy” Shane Jeffcoat, Jonie (Jeffcoat) Keisler, and April Jeffcoat.
He was a simple man who loved simple things - his old ‘85 Chevy truck, fishing on his boat in Lake Murray, spending hours under the boat shed building planters, wishing wells, and wooden toys for his grandchildren. He was a man who loved the Lord and loved people. He was a father to the fatherless—a provider to those in need. If anyone needed a helping hand, you could call Odom and he’d be right there to pick you up off the side of the road or tell you how to build something or how to fix a broken engine. He loved gardening and tinkering - always busy and working with his hands. He loved a good joke and was sharp as a tack to the very end.
He is survived by his wife, Janie; his beloved mother-in-law, Mamie Frye Ritter; and his children: son, Buddy, daughter-in-law Katie, daughter, Jonie, son-in-law Glenn, and daughter, April. Also surviving are his brothers, Sanders Jeffcoat, Eddie Jeffcoat, and Vernon Jeffcoat (Pat); and his sister, Laura Griffin (Bill). He has numerous grandkids, great-grandkids, nieces, and nephews who he loved dearly.
The family would like to give a special thanks to his hospice team from MSA Hospice: Heather, Marian, Kurt, Monica, and Malcolm.
