

Otis grew up in Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School. He served in the United States Army in the Korean Conflict from 1951-1953. He married Freddie Rikard on July 8, 1953 and was happily married for 57 years. He retired from MCEC in 1992 after working there for 17 years as shop foreman. He was a lifelong member of Pisgah Lutheran Church where he served on church council. Otis had a passion for: gardening, working on anything that had a motor, Nascar and the Gamecocks.
Otis is survived by his daughter, Nancy Ricard (Wayne) of Lexington; and David Amick (Tina) of Leesville; grandchildren, Chris Ricard (Kayla), Mandy Bodie (Andrew), Zack Ricard (Sarah), Morgan Wieczorek (Hayden) and Tucker Amick; great-grandchildren, Shellie Claire Bodie, Jenna Renee Bodie, Memphis Ricard and Paisley Crisley; and sister, Annie Ruth Addy.
Otis was predeceased by his wife, Freddie Rikard Amick; son, Otis "Bubba" Leon Amick, Jr.; granddaughter, Shelley Ann Ricard; great grandson, Clay Ricard; and five siblings.
A funeral service will be held 3:00pm Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Pisgah Lutheran Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm to 3:00pm prior to service in the church narthex. Memorials may be made to Pisgah Lutheran Church, 1350 Pisgah Church Rd. Lexington SC 29072.
