Patricia was a graduate of Columbia High School and attended the University of South Carolina for a while. She enjoyed a long career at JB White's Department Store, where she worked in the Infants Department at Dutch Square. Patricia was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, Park Street Baptist Church, and White Rock Baptist Church. She read her Bible every day and found joy in gardening, painting, and reading. Above all, she loved her family, both immediate and extended, and was always supportive of them. Her wise and humorous presence will be dearly missed.
She will be remembered as a sweet, generous, and loving person who embraced everyone with open arms. A true Christian, Patricia often said, "God will guide and direct my path each and every day." Her legacy of kindness and devotion will continue to inspire those who knew her.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Generations of Chapin for their love and care of Patricia. Special thanks to Mary Ann, Ryan, Tiffany, and all of the employees who loved and cared for her, as well as the Hospice nurses: Dee, Brandy, and Andrew. Heartfelt appreciation is also extended to her very good friends, Shirley and Agnes, and to all of her many beloved friends.
Patricia always ended a call, text, or conversation with "I love you!" Per her request, there will be no visitation and no service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sister Care of Columbia.
"God has been my strength, he took care of me always."
