Patsy Hentz Shull

Patsy Hentz Shull, 87, passed away Tuesday December 23, 2025. Born June 16, 1938 in Lexington County, she was the daughter of Thomas Henry Hentz and Fae Hite Hentz. She graduated from Lexington High School. Patsy worked many years for Dooley Law Firm in Lexington.

Patsy was a lifelong member of St. David Lutheran Church, West Columbia. She served on the Altar Guild for many years, active in the David Sunday School Class, the Tone Chimes and the Young at Heart group. She helped with the Dooley-Hite Reunion, Shull Reunion and Hentz Reunion. Patsy worked with LICS for many years. She was loved by her church family and community friends. She and Junior ate lunch at Wendy's in Lexington often and made new friends with staff and regulars. Patsy was well loved by all who knew her!

Patsy is survived by her husband of 68 years, Ernest D. Shull, Jr. (Lexington); her son and daughter-in-law, David W. Shull and Charlotte Knight Shull (Elloree) and her son, Calvin H. Shull (Lexington); her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Carroll and Vivian Shull and her sister-in-law, Jackie Shull and their families. She will be missed by her extended Knight-Tucker-Hoffman-Dorn family whom she spent many family gatherings with at Stumphole and in Sandy Run.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents; her son and daughter-in-law, Ernest Bryan Shull and Donna Burbank Shull; and her brother-in-law, George F. Shull, Sr.

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. in the sanctuary at St. David Lutheran Church prior to Graveside Service at 3 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the excellent care she received at National Health Care Lexington over the last year and Lexington Health for the excellent care the past few days of her precious life.
