

Prakashchandra was born in Anklav and grew up in Virsad, Gujarat. He attended Virsad High school and later studied at Petlad Commerce College. After obtaining his Bachelor in Commerce, he began his career with the Oil and Natural Gas Company (ONGC) in Vadodara. He later pursued a tailoring business both in India and the United States. Prakashchandra also worked at the Sleep Number Mattress Company in the USA and retired in 2019.
In 1973, Prakashchandra married Jyotsnaben Darji, and together they raised three children: Jigisha, Ishita, and Ashish.
Prakashchandra was a man of many interests, including watching singing competition shows, talent shows, and gardening. He enjoyed gathering with family and friends, walking, and networking. His involvement in the community was significant, as he helped Hindu temples in Columbia, SC, and beyond. He also provided free tailoring services to those in need.
Known for his honesty, loyalty, generosity, wisdom, kind-heartedness, hard work, and humor, Prakashchandra had a very pure heart, always willing to support and help anyone in need. He was friendly, talkative, and eager to connect with people. Passionate about serving others, he prioritized his customers' needs over financial gain through his unique tailoring skills.

A memorial service will be held at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - Lexington Chapel, located at 503 N. Lake Dr, Lexington, South Carolina, 29072. The service is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, January 28, 2026, starting at 11:00 am.
