Rodger C Stansell

LEXINGTON – Funeral services for Rodger C. Stansell, 64, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2015 at Florence Baptist Church, Pelion, SC with interment in Southland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pastor Wesley Mayfield will conduct the services. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.

Mr. Stansell was born September 1, 1950 in Atlanta, GA and passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2015. He was a son of the late Clifford Florence Stansell and Mary Lou Hall Stansell. Rodger was a member of Laurel Baptist Church, West Columbia and member “at heart” of Florence Baptist Church, Pelion. He owned and operated his own trucking business and also enjoyed a long career in sales as well as his time driving a school bus. He loved his family, playing golf, fishing, camping and cookouts.

Surviving are his sons, Johnny Stansell (Amy), Tony Stansell (Brian), Ricky Rimer (Mindy) and Russell Rimer; grandchildren, Cory, Nathan, Dylan, Savannah, Kyle, Haden, Emma and Benjamin; sisters, Dale Banks (Pete) and Debbie Miles (Sammy), brother, Russell Stansell (Rita) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 30 years, Wanda H. Stansell and his parents.
