Mrs. Rose Tolson Hyman

LEXINGTON - Funeral services for Rose Tolson Hyman, 73, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 19, 2014 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 1130 St. Peters Road, Lexington, SC 29072 with interment in Bush River Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Leon Rawl. Memorials may be made in memory of Rose to the church. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Hyman was born January 27, 1941 in Timmonsville, SC and passed away on Friday, May 16, 2014. She was a daughter of the late Charles F. Tolson and Sue Lyles Tolson. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Lydia Circle. She had retired from the United States Postal Service in 2004 and had served as past board member of the Columbia Post Office Credit Union. Rose was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and an avid Carolina Gamecock and baseball fan. She will be missed by all of those that knew and loved her dearly.

Surviving are her daughter, Kim (Jim) Elliott of Lexington; son, Keith Taylor (Dana) of Irmo; grandchildren, Zachary and Travis Elliott, Spencer and Alexander Lourie; sisters, Anne (Glen) Lott of Columbia, Kay (Dean) Riley of Columbia and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to nurses, Melissa Thorpe, Kippy Lucas, Linda Byars and caregivers, Dee Bannister and Phyllis Baxter.
