Ruby Toney Hinson, 94, widow of the late Joe Claude Hinson, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on July 18, 2024. Born in Rutherford County, NC, June 26, 1930, to the late Johnny Clee Toney and Sarah Cleo Deviney Toney, she graduated from Columbia Commercial College with a Degree in Business. Mrs. Hinson was an Insurance Adjuster and Claims Manager for The Keenan Company and Keenan Suggs, retiring after thirty-two years of service. She was active in PTA, serving as Chairman of the Life Membership Committee/Secretary and Treasurer. She was an active member of Riverland Hills Baptist Church, the Friendship Class, and Oasis. Previously, she was a charter member of St. Andrews Baptist Church where she served as a Children's Sunday School Teacher and on numerous committees. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
Funeral Services and visitation will be held on July 27 at Riverland Hills Baptist Church, 201 Lake Murray Blvd, Irmo, SC 29063. The family will receive friends at Riverland Hills on July 27 at 12:30 pm, prior to the service at 2:00 pm. Her family will have a private interment at the Bush River Gardens Mausoleum following the service.
Mrs. Hinson is survived by sons: F. Joey Hinson (Donna), Stephen J. Hinson (Nancy), and Jeffrey C. Hinson; grandchildren: Clay Hinson, Janna Hahn, Joy Hinson Berendt (Ryan), and Jonathan Hinson (CJ); and five great-grandchildren; sisters: Helen Jones (Larry), and a very "special sister friend" Alice Spearman, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth (Beth) Epting; and brothers, Hoyt Toney and Earl Toney.
