

LEXINGTON – Funeral services for Ruth Corley Richardson, 90, will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, February 13, 2012 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Memorials may be made to Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1430 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072.
Mrs. Richardson was born October 29, 1921 in Lexington, SC and passed away on Friday, February 10, 2012. She was a daughter of the late Ethel Ernestine and Julius Wesley Corley. Mrs. Richardson was a graduate of Lexington High School, Class of 1939. She worked at the AAA Government Office at the Lexington County Courthouse and The State Newspaper in Columbia. She retired in early 1946 to a lifetime of being a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to many. Her love of cooking was her greatest past-time. She was a lifelong member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher and member of the Women of the ELCA.
Mrs. Richardson is survived by her children, Carol Anne R. and James R. Metts, Charles Hubert and Dianne Cromer Richardson, Carl Wesley and Debra Kirkland Richardson, all of Lexington; grandchildren, Stephanie Carol M. (Bobby) Turbeville, Michelle Anne M. (Nathan) Nienhius, Jamie Renee M (Shaun) Hudson, Caitlin Gayle Richardson, all of Lexington, Elizabeth Richardson (Travis) Bruce of Colorado Springs, CO and Andrew Charles Richardson of Savannah, GA; great-grandchildren, Ashley Jordon Metts Nienhius, Weston Robert Turbeville, Jacob Metts Turbeville, Jeremy James Karl Nienhius, Dean Osborne Bruce, Savannah Caroline Turbeville, Isabella Ruth Hudson, Astrid Elise Bruce, Thomas Brady Hudson, and Samuel Calhoun Turbeville; brother, John Paris (Dorothy B.) Corley of Lexington. Mrs. Richardson was predeceased by her husband, Floy Hubert Richardson; sister, brother, and in-laws, Louise Corley (James L.) Wannamaker of St. Matthews, Julius Royal (Norma L.) Corley of Lexington, and Claude Homer (Alma T.) Corley of Lexington.
