S.C. “Carl” Stimson, 80, of Lexington, South Carolina passed away Sunday, March 29, 2026, due to his long battle with MDS that transformed into Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Born on July 31, 1945, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, he graduated from Cocoa High School in Florida in 1963. He swiftly enlisted in the military and was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, serving with distinction during the Vietnam War from 1964 to 1968 and subsequently honorably discharged in 1969.
During his service, he achieved the rank of Sergeant and was stationed at Travis Air Force Base. Following his military service, Carl retired from Florida Power & Light after more than twenty-five years. He then went into business consulting achieving the level of a Master Black Belt in Six Sigma while helping numerous, global organizations achieve heightened efficiency.
Carl was a wonderful and dedicated husband, dad, and grandfather who is immeasurably missed. He is survived by his beloved wife, Denise; and children, Nathan (Jill) and Dustin (Rebecca); and grandchildren Ella, Amy, Tori, and Barrett.
