COLUMBIA - Stephen Barrett Blackwell, 38, was born on September 14, 1976, and died after a short illness on August 16, 2015. He was the son of Patricia Derrick Blackwell and Stephen Charles Blackwell, of Irmo, SC. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at St. Andrews Lutheran Church, 1416 Broad River Rd, Columbia SC., with the Rev. John Trump presiding.
He is survived by his parents; sisters, Petra, Stephanie (Avery), and Leigh (Sol); nephew, Phoenix; nieces, Ashley, Danielle, Ciara; and his cousins, aunts and uncles. He is also survived by his grandmother, Helen Shealy Derrick, and a special friend, Tess Balk. Barrett's devotion to family and his quick wit will be very much missed.
Memorials may be made to the Back Pack Program at St. Andrews Lutheran Church. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
