Suzanne F. Evans “Susie” was a woman of many interests and always ahead of her time. She was born October 8, 1937 in Utica, NY to Alfred "Buster" and Jacque Rivette and passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2015. Susie graduated from UFA Academy in 1955, received her degree in Advertising, Design and Production from MVTI and then worked at General Electric as a graphic designer. She was spotted by a tall Syracuse and UFA basketball player, Gary Holbrook Evans, the summer of 1957 and the rest is history. Her creative energy was expressed with her art work, design, decorating and sewing. A tennis enthusiast, she relished her court time, especially when competing with her husband of 57 years, Gary. Pinochle games with Gary and his sister and brother-in-law in Virginia provided many enjoyable hours of laughter and togetherness. Her brother, Fred Rivette, of Turin NY stayed in the area after a stint in the USAF. Susie stood ready to volunteer wherever she resided, whether for a civic association, tennis club, blood drives or as treasurer of the local volunteer firefighters. She enjoyed the outdoors - on a boat or a deck in the Adirondacks and on Lake Murray in South Carolina. Susie was, indeed, a remarkable woman who was loved and who will also be missed by: their three children - Kimberley Perry, Valerie Jewett, Grant Evans and their spouses; their six grandchildren- Evan, Austin and Monika Perry and Jacob, Joshua and Jessica Evans; her golden retriever sidekick -Trooper; and all who knew her.
