

Tracy Diane O’Kelly Klatt was born on June 14, 1965 in Columbia, SC and passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital. A loving and devoted wife, mother, sister and aunt, she was the daughter of the late Jeanne Redding O’Kelly Little and the late David Barron O’Kelly, III.
Tracy graduated with honors from Wando High School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from College of Charleston and a Juris Doctorate degree from the USC School of Law. She was employed as Assistant General Counsel by the South Carolina Department of Social Services (DSS). She previously served as a staff attorney in DSS’s Richland County office, the DSS County Attorney for Beaufort and Jasper Counties, Deputy Public Defender for Aiken County and Assistant Public Defender for Beaufort County.
Tracy was a kind and gentle soul with a quiet and humble demeanor, enormous personal strength and courage, and deep faith. She had a great love for animals, music, oceans and lakes, and the USC Gamecocks. She loved to laugh. She was devoted to her family and cared deeply for others. She was a loyal and true friend and was dearly loved by all who knew her. Professionally, she was a skillful, wise and dedicated advocate for the interests of vulnerable adults and children.
Tracy was predeceased by her husband, Eric William Klatt. She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Diane Klatt; stepson, Eric William Klatt, Jr. (Lindsay); stepdaughter, Elizabeth Armstrong Klatt; step-grandsons, Rice, Daniel and Henry; step-granddaughters, Maeve, Fiona, and Darcy; brother, David Hamilton O’Kelly (Laurie); sister, Mary Katherine O’Kelly Richardson (Larry); sister, Debra Lynne O’Kelly Day (Glenn); sister, Ashley O’Kelly Miller (Cade); mother-in-law, Alice DeForest Klatt Harvey; brother-in-law, Emil H. Klatt, III (Barbara); sister-in-law, Suzanne Klatt Thompson (Steve); sister-in-law, Diane Lenski Sexton (Stan) and a host of beloved nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 29, 2022, at The Parish Church of St. Helena in Beaufort, SC. Burial will be private.
