Vera D. Griner

LEXINGTON - A memorial service for Vera D. Griner, 77, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church with private inurnment in Woodridge Memorial Park. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Vera was born December 3, 1935 in Rittman OH and passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Harry K. Griner and Sarah Workman Griner. Vera was a dedicated, active member of Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church. Vera D. Griner, CRNA, M.Ed., was a 1959 graduate of the University of Cincinnati School of Anesthesia, where she was the Program Director from 1991 to 1998. In 1995, she was awarded AANA Program Director of the Year for her contributions to nurse anesthesia education. She was a recognized leader throughout her career at both the state and national level. She collaborated with the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing in 1991 to develop the current master’s program in anesthesia.

Vera is survived by her sister, Karen Dodrill of Rittman, OH. She was predeceased by her parents, grandparents, and brother, Kenneth Griner.
