Vernon was preceded in death by his son, Lance Corporal Joshua Torrence and his sister, Laura Norman. He is survived by his wife, Regina, and his daughters, Vanessa Sheftman and Raquel Clelan. He was the cherished grandpa of Benjamin, Eleanor, Delia, Lincoln, Chloe, Rebecca and Abigail. He also leaves behind his father, Frank Torrence and mother, Pat Carr, and brothers and sisters who loved him dearly. Among them are Rebecca Cunningham, Debbie (Mike) Carter, Jeff Carr, Keith Robertson, Jennifer Torrence and a host of other family members who will miss him dearly.
Anyone who knew Vernon knew he enjoyed helping others and took great pride in his work. He relished in spending time with his family and partaking in various hobbies including building a model train town and working on his Model A truck.
A visitation will be held Friday, May 30, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072, with a memorial service to follow at 4:00 PM.
