Walter A. Blackmer, age 71, of Lexington, SC, died Saturday morning, July 29, 2023 at Lexington Medical Center, West Columbia, SC. Born August 16, 1951 in Sandusky, MI, he was the youngest child of the late Walter "Sam" Blackmer and Carmie (Hilliman) Blackmer.
He is survived by his loving wife and companion, Susan M. Blackmer along with his three children; son, Aaron (Kelly) Blackmer; and daughters, Andrea (Carlisle) Nelson and Amanda (Thomas Jason) Hayden; grandchildren, Riley Blackmer, Troy Blackmer, Olivia Hayden, Valerie Nelson and Thomas David Hayden; nephew Hal (Lisa) Hauber and many other loving relatives.
A memorial service for Walter will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church located at 2350 Augusta Hwy, Lexington, SC 29072.
