CHAPIN - Ms. Wendi Denise Shealy, formerly of Lexington, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2015 after a short illness. Wendi was a member of Lexington High School Class of 1987 and received a B.A. (Psychology), B.S. (Biology), M.S. (Exercise Physiology) and Ph.D. (Physical Therapy) from the University of South Carolina. She provided physical therapy for geriatric house-bound patients for over twelve years in the Columbia area. She was a compassionate care-giver and her visits will be sorely missed by her many patients.
Wendi will be remembered for her infectious smile, generous spirit and her great love of animals. She is survived by her parents, James and Barbara Shealy of Cartersville, GA; her brother, Jim Shealy (Maureen) and three nephews: Nicholas, Russell and Patrick Shealy, all of Cartersville, GA.
A memorial service will be held for Wendi at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 2015 at St. David Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2015 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.
In keeping with Wendi’s giving spirit, the family asks that donations be made in lieu of flowers to Southern States Mastiff Rescue or the charity of your choice.
