LEXINGTON – Funeral services for William Thomas “Tea” Pound, 88, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at St. James Lutheran Church with interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church, 1358 South Lake Dr, Lexington, SC 29072.
Mr. Pound was born September 5, 1922 in Lexington, SC to the late Ebert Jack Pound and Noluer Smith Pound. He passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2011. He served in the US Army during WWII under George Patton. Mr. Pound retired from the textile industry. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church where he served as an usher for many years and also served on the Church Council and assisted with Communion Preparations.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Roberta Pound of Lexington, sons; Tommy Pound, Robert (Linda) Pound, Jeff (Brandy) Pound, all of Lexington; a sister, Lula Mae Price of Lexington; 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Stanley Pound and brothers, Richard and Fred Pound.
