

Zachary Lewis Drawdy, 21, was born on September 5, 1999 in Prosperity, SC in Alice Faye Bedenbaugh’s (now his Nana B) driveway. He passed away Thursday, August 12, 2021, at his home in Lexington, SC. He was the son of Randall and Samantha Drawdy.
Zachary grew up in Lexington attending Midway Elementary, New Providence Elementary, Lexington Middle and River Bluff High School where he graduated in 2018. He was a member of the Beta Club and National Honor Society. He played JV and Varsity football for River Bluff High School. Zachary was also very active in AFROTC at Lexington High School where he rose to deputy commander his senior year.
Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church was an important influence in Zachary’s life. He was baptized there and became a member. He was a devoted Christian and read his Bible regularly. Zachary enjoyed filling leadership positions and strove for excellence in all that he did.
Zachary was a rising senior at the University of South Carolina. He was majoring in mechanical engineering and completing a summer internship at Michelin.
Zachary was a very active member and leader in the Airsoft of South Carolina Community and went by the call name, Spitfire.
He is survived by his parents, Randall and Samantha and his brother, Caleb; grandfather, Clyde Drawdy; grandparents, Ann Johnson and William H. Grover (Mary Foley); aunts, Jennifer Gilmore (Geoff Williams), Andrea (Tom) Corey and Georgenna Drawdy; first cousins, Jezabel (Kelly) Jones, Hannah, Jonah, and Jaden Corey and Matthew Drawdy. Zachary was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Patricia Lewis Drawdy.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 6:00 pm on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Private funeral services will be held at Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
