Colleen Joan Zirkle, 20, passed away Friday, December 26, 2014. Colleen was born to Lizabeth (Stichnot) and Major Steve Zirkle on February 8, 1994 in Kansas City, MO. Colleen grew up in Derby, KS and graduated from The Independent School (TIS) before studying biology at Loyola University Maryland where she was a junior. She is preceded in death by her father, Major Steve Zirkle, and is survived by her mother, Lizabeth (Stichnot) Zirkle; brother, Richard Zirkle; and a large family who loves her. Family and friends are invited on Sunday, Jan 4 to attend a wake from 2-4 pm, with a Rosary beginning at 4 pm and reception at 4:30pm. These services, along with a Funeral Mass on Jan. 5 at 10 am, will be held at St James Catholic Church, 309 S. Stewart Rd., Liberty, MO. Interment will follow at 12:30 pm at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS. There will be a memorial service in Wichita at TIS on Wednesday, January 7 at 6 pm.
