Deborah Jo Grimm

Deborah Jo (Alley) Grimm, aged 73, died unexpectedly after an all too brief battle with an aggressive illness. She passed away on December 19th, 2023. She was preceded in death by her father Cread (Pete) Alley and her mother Cammie (Betty) Alley. She was a beloved mother, wife, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Debbie was born on November 14th, 1950 in Kansas City, Missouri. She grew up in Liberty, Missouri where she attended high school, then went to college at Baker University. She worked in the Liberty public school district for many years, with a break in the middle to raise her 4 daughters. She happily retired in 2013.

Debbie thrived in her role as a mother. She always put her family’s needs and wants far above her own. She has always been their biggest advocate, cheerleader and motivator from childhood into their adulthood. Her role as “Memmy” to her adored “Grands” was her biggest pride and joy over the past 24 years.

Debbie loved spending time with her friends. From yearly trips to her weekly wine get togethers, she cherished her friendships and the memories they made. She especially loved her time at the beach, the ocean and sunshine were her happy place. She loved family gatherings, always working so hard to make sure everything was done just right and keeping traditions alive.

Debbie is survived by her husband, Tom Grimm, her brother and sister: Gerry Alley and Cammie Downing, her daughters: Stacey, Amie, Chelsey and Abbey, and her 13 grandchildren: Kaylee, Karter, Kennedy, Kamryn, Hayden, Raegan, Allie, Eden, Avery, Laney, Cooper, Adaline and Palmer. She also left behind her two beloved pups, Rosie Millie and Dolly Jane.

Please join us as we honor our sweet momma, Debbie Alley-Grimm on June 22nd, 2024 at Liberty United Methodist Church, 1001 Sunset Ave, in Liberty, Missouri. A visitation will begin at 1:00 pm followed with a 2:00 service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the KC Pet Project. Debbie was an advocate for all animals and loved supporting this cause.
