
GEORGE LEWIS PORTER, 85, passed away September 18, 2015 at Liberty Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin Jay and Mabel (Conard) Porter; his half-brother, O.E. Boggess; his sister, Faye Hosman; and his daughter, Susan Porter. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Fern Porter of Liberty, MO; his son, Bryan Porter and daughter-in-law, Melissa, of Ponchatoula, LA; his daughter, Nancy Gulotta and son-in-law, Vince, of Smithville, MO; his step-granddaughter, Lily Poole; and his granddaughter, Jordan Gulotta. Lewis was born October 29, 1929 in Liberty, MO. He graduated from Liberty High School in 1947. After graduating he served in the US Army stationed at Ft. Lewis in Washington, rising to the rank of Master Sergeant. He married Fern Seevers on April 26, 1952 at the Smithville Christian Church. He retired from TWA in 1991 after 24 years as radio mechanic. He was a lifelong history buff and loved to read and watch documentaries. In his retirement, he enjoyed riding on his lawn mower, piddling in his small garden, watching TV, and eating out. Services will include visitation at Church-Archer-Pasley Funeral Home in Liberty, MO, Tuesday September 22, 2015 from 6:00-7:30p.m. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 1:00p.m., at the Fairview-New Hope Cemetery in Liberty.
