Rose was born on November 11, 1925 in Kansas City, MO to Frank and Mary Moritz. She attended Redemptorist High School in Kansas City and was a government key punch operator during the second world war. Never content with being just a girl, she persuaded her father to allow her to get a driver's license in a time when women didn't drive.
On January 30, 1948 she married Philip Stabler and they had five children, all boys. She said that raising five boys was hard, but never boring. For twenty-five years she spent her time chauffeuring kids to and from baseball, football, basketball and any other places that five very active boys wanted to go. She loved her children above all and would do anything to keep them safe and happy.
In her later years after her husband died she fought fiercely for her own independence living alone and continuing to drive her car well up into her nineties. It was all her sons could do to get her to accept any help at all. Although well up in age, she remained primary care giver and taxi service to her older sister Ann until Ann passed.
Rose is preceded in death by her husband Phil, hers sisters Ann Oldham and Mary O'Donnell, her daughters-in-law Denise and Jean and her grandson Matt. She leaves behind her sons: Philip, Michael, Lance, Steve, and Jim, her daughter-in-law Celeste, six grand children and six great grand children.
Services will be held at Curé of Ars Church at 9403 Mission in Leawood, KS on January 15, 2022. Visitation will be at 9:15, Rosary at 9:45 with a Mass to follow. There will be a private burial service for family only at Mt. Olivet Cemetery at 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd. in Raytown, MO immediately following the services.
