

Betty Jean was a great mother, grandmother and friend. She retired from Acme-McCrary after 44 years of service. She was a member of Hickory Grove United Methodist Church, member of UMW, and was pianist at Hickory Grove for 50 years. She loved her church family, loved eating out with the “Sassy Sisters”, along with working in her yard and flower gardens.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Hickory Grove United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ben Van Staalduinen and David Hobson officiating; burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
She was the daughter of the late Yancey and Bleeka Brewer Cox; she was also preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, William Gaston Glass; infant daughter, Nancy Glass; sisters, Doris York, Marie Gee, Wanda Nance, Martha Teague; brothers, Ira Cox, Lloyd Cox and Donald Cox.
Betty Jean is survived by his daughters, Lisa G. Haithcox (Mark) of Staley, Angie G. Cox (Mitch) of Liberty; and granddaughters, Courtney Haithcox, Casey Haithcox; and grandson, Brody Cox.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hickory Grove United Methodist Church, 10068 Silk Hope-Liberty Road, Liberty, NC 27298.
