She was a kind and loving woman and a friend to all who knew her. She retired from Sears after 35 years of service and was a lifetime member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church; burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Phillips will lie in repose in the sanctuary one hour prior to the service.
She was the daughter of the late Bunn and Barbara Layton Coble and was also preceded in death by her husband, Oscar “Doc” Phillips and sister, Pauline Snoddy.
Surviving are her caregivers Joe and Sudy Crowson and godson, Wesley Crowson.
Loflin Funeral Home of Liberty is in charge of arrangements.
