I grew up around the corner in Julian from Dot and George Pickett.  Edith was so good to send cards to all the Browns for different events and milestones.   Edith was certainly a blessing.

So very sorry to hear that Miss Edith had passed, I always enjoyed talking with her. We had such fun when she would come to Sylvan for Heritage Day and make homemade biscuits for all the kids. You are all in my prayers.

What a blessing this dear lady was to so many!  Keeping you all in thoughts and prayers now and in the days to come.

We  are all sad too hear of the passing my dear cousin Edith. Your Mom was always excited too hear when we in Swansboro and took the day too visit with your Aunt Jean . Your Mom made her Coconut cake and the Butter Pound cake when came over too spend some time with us. When we were leaving ,your Mom made sure too wrap up a large piece of each . May God grant you the strength in this time of loss as she begins her heavenly journey.
  She will be dearly missed.

Family, Thoughts and prayers are with you as you grieve the loss of Edith. She was such a caring and delightful person!  Our family always enjoyed her visits(such an early-bird), her laugher and stories.  OH, and her coconut cakes!

What a great lady!  Those meals she fixed for the crew after they put in a barn of tobacco were the best.  That smile and her never-knew-a-stranger personality are traits I wish I had!  We'll miss her Brother Ronnie.

We are so saddened to hear about the loss of Ms. Edith. She visited my parents so often and they enjoyed her visits. As a family, we are thinking of you at this sad time and sending our deepest sympathy, from The Howard Cheek Family.

Jean, Ronnie and family, I am sorry about Edith.  I am sorry that I can not be with you, because Don's brother passed away Sunday, and his service will be in Durham this afternoon.
She was a caring and gracious lady and I know she will be missed by all.  Yes, I was one of those that loved her coconut cakes.  I remember when my sister, Tobie passed away she saved me a piece of coconut cake, because she knew how much I loved it!
Please know that you are in my thoughts, and that I love you!

Ronnie, your mom was a wonderful person to get to know. She will truly be missed... I hate I didn't get to see h we agian... But, I hope she knew I was always thinking about her when she left. Praying for you and your family. It was a pleasure to know you all....

Mrs. Edith was such a joy.  When I would go to see my dad I always made sure I spoke to her.  She was always so kind to me.  She would play the piano and I would sing.  I can just imagine her being a hostess in Heaven.  I hear talk of her coconut cakes.  I bet the Lord ask for one of her cakes right away.   I would love to have known her before the terrible disease took over her life.  To her son and his wife, I am so thankful to have met you.  My dad was Fred.

Dear Family,

Our hearts were sadden today when we saw Ms. Edith's picture and found out that she had finished her earthly journey. It has been some time since we last saw her but she always had time for us and really enjoyed everyone that would come and spend time with her. That particular Sunday morning we brought the church services to Alamance House and she so graciously played the piano so we could all sing together. She was the Hostess of all Hostess's. Today. I am sure she is giving tours of Heaven's beauty and to all who have entered the gates since her arrival this week. 

Today, we know she is in a better place and one that we all long for. At least we know that she will be keeping everything in its place until that time occurs. Ms Edith loved her Family and spoke about each one of you because she was awe so proud of you. Cherish those memories for they are special... Thanks again for sharing her with us over the years at Homeplace & Alamance House. May God Bless You and know that you will be in our prayers during this time.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Overman & her sisters while working as a sales associate in the shoe dept. at Belk, Burlington.  They each brought happiness to my work day!  Mrs. Isley always showed me her beautiful smile & shared her adoration for her family.  Her goodness & love filled the room & spilled over into my day.  She took the time to make an impression on my life.  I have thought about her so many times since my retirement several years ago.  God's comforting healing & blessings to the family.  I was blessed to know her.

Ronnie,Carol and family... Tom,Glenda,Ann and I are heartbroken for the loss of your beloved mom.  We understand the journey your family has been on these past years but know Edith is now 'perfect' in every way. We will miss all the joy,infectious smiles and laughter she brought to us when we came to visit Mama Mary. We are grateful for her dear friendship and care for Mary as they became ' besties'. Ronnie, your mother was a joy to visit with. She always treated me like i was family.  Her smile was a blessing to see and I used to really get excited when she would ask me if I was hungry. She and your father were really good people and i thank God to have been a part of their life. May the peace of our Lord be with you and your family during this time.

Ms. Overman will be greatly missed. She was a very kind lady.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
