Gail Layton Giddens

A fun-loving and artistic lady with a wonderful sense of humor, Gail loved to make people laugh. Her passions included flowers, gardening, crafting and shopping. She enjoyed bluegrass and beach music, and dancing. A devoted mother to her "baby girl", Robin and loving Nana to Olivia and Abigail, she also adored her grand-dogs. A gifted writer and avid reader, she cherished her Bible and prayed daily. She was a member of Tabernacle Methodist Church. Gail retired from Nathanael Greene Elementary School where she served as a Teacher Assistant for over 20 years.

She was the daughter of the late Billy Frank and Elsie Irene Frye Layton and was also preceded in death by her sister, Jo Ann L. Adkins; and her brother, James Howard Layton.

Surviving is her daughter, Robin Giddens Callaway and her husband, Martin; granddaughters, Olivia and Abigail Callaway; nieces, Debbie Ritch, Melissa Camp, and Donna Patton; nephews, Timothy Layton and Mark Layton; and a host of extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Dr. Clyde M. Gilmore Memorial Park, 6500 Liberty Road, Julian, NC.
