Hilda Mae Langley McMasters

Hilda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had a strong faith in God, she was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years. She loved her family, flowers, gardening and Christian music. Hilda was the Matriarch of the family. She was the family historian with a sharp mind who could recall facts and people off of the top of her head.

She was the daughter of the late Burlie and Ruth Kirkman Langley; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray C. McMasters; sister, Peggy Burke and brother, Tommy Langley.

Surviving are her sons, Danny Ray McMasters (Donna) and Alvin McMasters (Cathy); grandsons, Matt McMasters (Angie), Jared McMasters and David Polensek (Alexandra); great-grandchildren, Finley, Bridgette and Sydney McMasters; sisters, Marie Meacham and Linda McManus (Tommy); and brother, Eugene Langley (Helen).

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 from 10:15 until 11:00 a.m. at Loflin Funeral Home of Liberty, 212 W. Swannanoa Avenue, Liberty, NC. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at The Loflin Funeral Home Chapel. She will be laid to rest in Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery, Staley, NC.

At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, PO Box 1705, Liberty, NC 27298.
